Together, Not Alone – 15 Square Members Meetings

TNA Meetings are our regular events that are open to all members of 15 Square. These include updates from 15 Square on the progress of our various projects and open discussions between members and our team. It’s a great way to get involved or to learn more! Below are some common questions about the meetings.

What does TNA stand for?

TNA stands for ‘Together, Not Alone. This is a reminder that many of us have issues with circumcision and for many different reasons. In these meetings, everyone is on the same side. No one will tell you that your feelings towards this issue are wrong. 15 Square believes there is not enough recognition of those who feel harmed or are opposed to circumcision, and so do many of the attendees of these meetings.

What can I expect in a TNA?

These meetings do not have a strict agenda. Instead, we have a casual format which is the same in each meeting. Firstly, the 15 Square team members will introduce themselves whilst we wait for all the attendees to join the meeting. We then open up by discussing recent developments since our last meeting. Sometimes there are significant developments, so it is a great way to keep up to date with the progress of our organisation.

After we have updated everyone, there is an opportunity for commentary and response from members attending, as well as a prompt for anyone who wants to discuss a particular aspect of our work or any personal concerns or topics of discussion. Attendees are free to comment and share their perspectives.

Do I have to talk or put my camera on?

We encourage attendees to join in the discussion if they choose; however, not everyone wants to. Some attendees prefer to listen privately. Additionally, you can presume any name in the Zoom calls to preserve your privacy if you wish. This is completely fine, and often during the first session, members will prefer just to listen. That is absolutely fine. You are still welcome to join.

I have a specific issue that I would like to discuss. Is this the place to do it?

Yes, you absolutely can. You might be surprised how many others feel the same way or are supportive of your issue or perspective. If it is an issue you would prefer to keep somewhat private, however, feel free to send a direct message to the team, and we can keep it anonymous. Alternatively, some conversations lead to a more nuanced discussion between our team and an individual. In these situations, we may encourage a one-on-one discussion.

Who can join these meetings?

Anyone who is a member of 15 Square is welcome to come along. We are not -just- men who have been affected but also professionals or supporters of improved awareness of the harms and dangers of circumcision. We also welcome attendees from around the world, not just the UK, so remember the time difference.

How often do these TNA meetings happen?

There is no set schedule, however, we aim to host an event every 6 weeks or so. We try to vary the day and time to give members around the world an opportunity to join, but all meeting times are set by UK (London) time.

Discord Peer Support meetings
