The number of men who feel negative about circumcision is unknown. All we do know is that many men do, and that the psychological impacts have not been studied in detail. This means that medical institutions often ignore the first hand experiences of men when writing policy or providing healthcare.
Our vision for better public and professional recognition means we need to show evidence of the first hand experiences of men, so we want to hear your stories to raise awareness and provide hard evidence to help us to improve medical policy.
All submissions are made completely anonymous and we remove the names and email addresses before sharing your stories.
If you would like your story to be heard, or feel that your experiences ought to be taken into account in future medical health policy then please consider emailing us with your story.
Details of how to contact us can be found below.
In your own words, we want to hear from you. This list is the information that is useful –
1. Your age.
2. Your background and reason for circumcision, if known. (e.g. atheist upbringing, with a medical circumcision).
3. How old were you when you received your circumcision?
4. How do you feel circumcision has affected your life?
5. How has your circumcision affected your relationships with others, (e.g. partners, parents or religious/cultural community?)
6. As many other details and thoughts that you wish to share.
If you are a parent and wish to share your story, we would like to hear your story too.
If you have been affected by circumcision and want to communicate with others in your situation, you can also find the Circumcision Grief Forum here on Reddit. We also hold regular online meetings for members of 15 Square.
