The Charity Governance Awards Shortlist - Transforming With Digital.
15 Square has recently been shortlisted for the 2021 Charity Governance Awards alongside three other charities in our category! It is great to be on the same level as these fantastic charities.
The charity governance awards are organised by one of the highly prestigious livery companies based in the City of London; The Worshipful Company of Clothworkers. The Clothworkers’ Company received a royal charter in 1528, however the companies that united to form the Clothworkers go back even further.
This year marks an important milestone for 15 Square as we have worked hard to make mental health issues more widely recognised, and to introduce a very sensitive and difficult topic to the public.
Our category for nomination this year was in Transforming with Digital. The online award ceremony will be held on the 27th of May. Keep your eyes open here for details of how you can watch at home! How’s that for digital?
Following the Covid-19 situation, 15 Square took the opportunity to readdress our vision and find ways of using technology to help us achieve this better under the new situation. We are proud to say that we have developed an education package that can be delivered in online lessons for PSHE lessons, and we have developed online support services for our service users and put great effort into an updated statistics database. We have introduced a fantastic digital marketing strategy to ensure our information reaches those who need it most, and we have welcomed Louise Troy to the team, who as an expert in all things digital when it comes to marketing.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, and we are incredibly grateful that our work has been recognised as worthy of nomination.
We would also like to congratulate the other nominees in our category, and all the charities that have been shortlisted. You can find out more here about the brilliant groups that made the shortlist here.
Brook are a charity that helps young people with information on some incredibly important aspects of sexual health. 15 Square know how important education is for helping people understand their bodies and to make informed decisions. Brook give advice on everything from sexuality, body image issues, LGBT+ and information on staying safe online and in real life. We really love their project that helps teens understand and accept their own bodies.
MWNUK are faithfully committed to tackling gender inequality. Their work involves awareness campaigns, lobbying, counselling services and a helpline for women. These values are close to 15 Square’s heart and we know how important it is to ensure that there is an open space for people to communicate with people who understand, and to ensure their voices are heard in affecting progressive policy change.
The Happy Baby Community support women and their children who have been victims of violence or human trafficking, helping the receive international protection. Without these organisations, extreme and unparalleled hardship and loneliness can quickly become a reality for some women and their children. Together they are stronger and being part of this community gives their babies the best start in life!
We look forward to seeing the other charities in attendance on the day, but we really do feel privileged to be running in the same race as these brilliant charities that go out of their way to provide support and information to those in need.
